Leopard Print Inside Cake Tutorial

This is a quick tutorial of how to do leopard print inside of a cake or cupcake. I was in the middle of making other cupcakes and decided to make 2 leopard print cupcakes just for this tutorial. So, please keep that in mind. The end result of your cake or cupcake will be much better if you add more than 3 spots. I just did 2-3 just to make it quick. I hope you enjoy and please feel free to ask questions.

Step by step photo collage

Step 1) Make 3 different colors of cake batter. You can either use yellow & chocolate cake & color them accordingly ORyou can use gel color and color the cake batters accordingly.
Step 2) Divide your cake batter into 3 and place the Black cake mix in one pastry bag, brown in the 2nd pastry bag and keep the rest in the mixing bowl
Step 3) On the bottom of your EMPTY cake pan or cupcake liner, draw/pipe the spots.

Step 4) Top the 1st set of spots with the lightest cake batter and just repeat the process, alternating between making the spots & topping them off with batter.

Step 4 continued

End result is a leopard print pattern on the bottom, middle & top of your cake/cupcakes. It literally takes a few mins. You don't have to be neat either. Just have fun with it. ****If you are making a cake, you can pipe/draw the spots small b/c they will enlarge as the cake bakes.

This was done with red and black cake batter. As you can see, the  more spots you add, the prettier it'll turn out.

Fire! Fire! 6th Birthday

Today are my sons 6th birthday. Our theme was firefighter. I made the cake & the firetruck pinata. It was a lot of fun & hard work. Seeing the looks on their faces made my day.

9th Anniversary Cake--Love's Harbor, July 14, 2010

July 14, 2010 marked my 9th wedding anniversary. This is the cake I made to commemorate it.This was carrot cake with orange-cream cheese icing. It was soooo good and moist too. Cream cheese icing is really hard to smooth. I really love turquoise & brown.

Jacksonville Jaguar--June 30, 2010

This was a golf-bag birthday cake for my hubby who is a die-hard Jacksonville Jaguar fan. He was turning 29 (June 30, 2010) .Sadly, my cake ended up looking more like a gym bag instead. Better luck next time...

These are mini-cheeseburger cupcakes that I did just for fun. I made 24 of these...

Spongebob!

I made these for my kids just for fun. As you can tell white icing is imperative when making spongebob. I was too lazy to make white icing.
